Head-Chair Introduction: Emma Zazueta
Hello and Welcome! My name is Emma Zazueta, and I am your Head Chair for BMUN LXIX's Economic and Financial Committee (ECOFIN). This is my second year of involvement in BMUN: I was a Vice-Chair for the UN's General Assembly Third Committee: Social, Humanitarian, and Cultural Committee last year. This will be my tenth year of involvement in Model United Nations.
I am currently a Junior studying Political Economy with a concentration in Economic Development and Econometrics. I also completed the Haas Summer Program Business for Arts, Science and Engineering last summer.
Outside of BMUN, I am Co-Chair of Berkeley's Political Economy Student Association. I am also an Undergraduate Research Fellow at Berkeley's Institute of International Studies and Center on the Politics of Development. I am currently working on a project about foreign intervention and security sector design. Outside of school, I love to travel and cook.
This past year has been challenging, and we have had to adapt to our new virtual reality. Although we cannot be in person, I am convinced that Conference is going to be amazing. I am so excited to meet you all and in awe of your resilience and determination. I can't wait to read your work and listen to you engage with the topics we have chosen for Committee.
See you in a month!
- Emma Zazueta
